COLLEGE BASKETBALL BETTING:
ANALYZING THE THE MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE

November 2007

This looks like a down year for the conference, an assessment college basketball betting fans may endorse at the windows. Straight up (SU), against the spread (ATS), and over/under (O/U) records for the 2006/07 season are in parentheses:

WYOMING (17-15 SU, 17-11-2 ATS, 18-12 O/U): Backcourt of Brandon Ewing (19.8 PPG) and Brad Jones (18.0 PPG), one of the best in the nation, could lead Cowboys to the top.

BYU (25-9 SU, 16-13-2 ATS, 19-11-1 O/U): Three starters are gone but returnees Trent Plaisted (12.6 PPG) and Lee Cummard (9.4 PPG) should keep the Cougars near the top of the MWC standings.

UNLV (30-7 SU, 20-12-2 ATS, 18-16 O/U): With just about all of last season's Sweet 16 team gone, the Rebels will rely more on their stingy defense.
